Why should I give my pet fish oil?
Fish oil is a rich source of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids, both of which have several great benefits for pets.
EPA and DHA help support your pet's skin, coat, joint, and heart health. Learn more here.
The majority of commercial pet food available today have some omega-3 added. However, there's usually not enough provided, nor is the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 correct.
Research has shown that an omega-6 to omega-3 ratio of 5:1 and lower can be very beneficial for dogs and cats.

How long is Bonnie and Clyde’s Wild Omega-3 Fish Oil good for?
If unopened: Up to 2 years from the date of production.
If opened: When refrigerated and kept closed, our product should stay fresh for up to 4 months.
The best indicator of when it's expired is that it will start smelling strongly fishy. This suggests it may be time to throw the bottle out. Please note that a light fishy odor is nothing to worry about.
Is your product good for both dogs and cats?
Yes, the only reason we labelled the 16-ounce bottle as “For Large Dogs” is due to the size. A single small cat or dog will not use up an entire bottle in the 4 months that the oil is fresh for once it’s opened.
A simple guideline: if you have at least 40lbs total worth of cats and/or dogs in your home, then they should use the whole bottle within 4 months.
Does this need to be refrigerated? Does this need to be kept closed?
Yes to both. Our product is best kept fresh by refrigerating it and keeping it closed when not in use. The fatty acids in fish oil are sensitive and will degrade when exposed to oxygen, heat, and light. Minimizing these extends the shelf life of the product, keeping it fresh and effective for your pet.
How much does shipping cost?
Nada. You get free standard shipping in the US.
Isn’t salmon/krill/cod liver oil better for my pet?
Not if you’re primarily interested in giving your pet EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids. All of those oils have less EPA and DHA per teaspoon than our product, which means you need to feed your pet more calories to get the same amount of beneficial omega-3 fatty acids.
Will this smell fishy or give my pet “fish breath”?
Because we use an extremely high quality, human grade fish oil in our product, most customers are very happy with how little (if any) fish odor they can smell. It is deodorized as part of the purifying process it goes through.
Your dog shouldn’t get “fish breath” from using our product, nor should their hair start smelling bad.
What if my pet doesn’t like the taste of this product, or I’m not satisfied in any way?
Then you will get a 100% refund, no hoops to jump through or anything. That’s how confident we are in our product.
If you bought a bottle through a retail location, simply claim it through the store you purchased it at and they should refund you 100%. If bought online through our website or Amazon, we will give you the refund directly.
How do I give this to my pets?
Apply the appropriate amount to your pets’ meal, once per day. You can pump it on top of their meal or serve it in a separate bowl.
- For the 8oz bottle, give them 1 pump per 5lbs.
- For the 16oz bottle, give them 1 pump per 20lbs.
Please note that if your pet hasn't been taking any oils recently, we recommend starting at the following half-doses for at least 10 days:
- For the 8oz bottle, give them 1 pump per 10lbs for 10 days, then increase to 1 pump per 5lbs.
- For the 16oz bottle, give them 1 pump per 40lbs for 10 days, then increase to 1 pump per 20lbs.
Is this fish oil flavored? Will my pets enjoy it?
No, Bonnie and Clyde’s Wild Omega-3 is free from artificial colors, preservatives, and flavors. This ensures a pure, safe product for your pets.
The vast majority of dogs and cats love the rich taste of our wild-caught fish oil. Many customers note that their pets eat their meals more enthusiastically than before.
If your pets don’t enjoy the flavor, try dabbing their paw in the oil so that they lick it clean and get a taste. Sometimes this can help get used to the flavor.
Where is your product made? What is it made from? Where are the ingredients sourced?
Bonnie and Clyde’s Wild Omega-3 is bottled in Canada. The fish oil is manufactured and processed in Iceland, in a world-class facility that is ISO9001 and GMP/API compliant.
The oily fish (sardine, anchovy, mackerel) are sourced from the South Pacific (Chile, Peru) and also depending on the seasonality and EPA/DHA levels of the fish, sometimes from North Africa and Morocco.
The natural vitamin E in our product is derived from non-genetically engineered sunflowers, and is manufactured in Argentina, in a GMP and FDA-registered facility.
How long will it take to see benefits in my pet?
You should allow up to 12 weeks to see any noticeable changes in your pet’s skin and coat. Please note that there are no guarantees of visual improvement, as every pet is different. Some of the most significant benefits of omega-3 supplementation are not visually detected.
What are the risks associated with feeding my pet your product?
If your pet has a sensitive stomach, they may experience diarrhea when first starting to take in the fish oil. If this happens, simply cut the dose in half for a week, and then retry the normal dose.
If your pet has a bleeding disorder or is taking blood thinning medication, please consult with your veterinarian to confirm that they can consume our product. This is because vitamin E may have an effect on blood clotting.
Can I buy this in a pet store?
In Canada, our product will be available at select retail locations in 2016.
In the US, our product will remain only online for the time being.
Please let your favorite pet stores know that you’d like to see us on their shelves!

Do Pacific-caught fish contain harmful levels of radioactive compounds from Fukushima?
A number of different sources have found that radiation levels in the Pacific ocean are thousands of times below the permissible levels in drinking water.
A crowd-funded, non-government backed testing effort explained in November 2014 that: "At their highest near the damaged nuclear power plant in 2011, radioactivity levels peaked at more than 10 million times the levels recently detected near North America."
They added later on in the report that: "This Fukushima-derived cesium is far below where one might expect any measurable risk to human health or marine life, according to international health agencies. And it is more than 1000 times lower than acceptable limits in drinking water set by US EPA."
An oceanographer found that the levels of cesium present were "about 20,000 times less than drinking water standards. And so what we like to say is it’s detectable but harmless.”
In 2014, the FDA released an announcement stating: "FDA has no evidence that radionuclides from the Fukushima incident are present in the U.S. food supply at levels that would pose a public health concern.”
